The Derby Has Returned.

Well we’re back. And so were the racers; thanks to all who showed up on opening night.

The weather was pretty nice, the dust was controlled, and we had a rockin’ time. A fair amount of photographers showed up, and hopefully we’ll be able to share some photos with you in the next few days.

Results have been posted, check them out under the results tab above, see how you did, tell your friends how fast you are, tell your friends they should race as well –  that sort’ve thing.

Minus a few technical kinks, it was a stellar opening night – we hope to see you all again soon.

Party at Mellow Johnny’s 1/20

Please join us next Tuesday, January 20 for an end-of-season party and awards ceremony for the Dirt Derby Presented by Hammer Nutrition at Mellow Johnny’s Bike Shop.

We will be gathering downstairs in the Speed Shop (Day 1 of the Tour Down Under will be on the big screen upstairs) at 6:00 PM. Thanks to New Belgium, we will have suds on tap, and there will be something for the kids as well.  Awards being handed out – including HEED and HammerGel, Bontrager’s new RaceXLite Shoes, Continental and Panaracer tires, accessories from Capoforma and Harlot, and drawings for Oakley sunglasses for all our Velodrome participants and the Yakima Hold Up bike rack for one of our “B” race series champions – at 7:00.
Also, final, Final results will be posted in a few days, thanks for your patience

The end of a season, well almost

Just because it was our last race of the year didn’t mean that it was too late to mix things up a bit, or perhaps get rained on a bit. In the most interesting event of the night, Eardie Curry snapped his fork Hincapie-style in the Velodrome Chariot race. Knowing what he can do to a steerer tube, it’s best not to cross him.

Results are up, and the final standings for the second series can be found here.

We’ve got next week off, but then the week after that it’s our shindig at MJs. Prizes will be awarded, a keg might show up and you’ll be amazed at how much fun you can have below LT. The 20th, Mellow Johnny’s, in the basement, sometime ‘after work’.

We’ll see you then. It’ll be bittersweet in a sweet way.
